Peak Oil: What A Way To Go: Life at the end of Empire tnr.v, czx.v,, lmr.v, tsla, rm.v,,,, jnn.v, sqm, fmc, roc, li.v, wlc.v, clq.v, lit, nsany, byddf, gm, dai,, hev, aone, vlnc

We are hitting the Peak of Everything.

If you have a disturbing feeling these days that something is going very wrong in our lives, you are not alone and may be very right in your unsettling thoughts. Arizona shooting, Wars for Oil, Economy, Housing, Jobs - despite all of it we are still enjoying society, which is functioning more or less, not perfectly, but at least with some sense and illusion of choice.

It all could be gone very fast, the entire fabric of our society will be teared apart - it will be not even like the last financial crisis, which had the horrifying experience for all of us - there is point of no return in this coming one: Energy Collapse. You can not bail out Energy Supply, print more Oil to drive, to plant, to feed, to move, to produce. You even need Oil to move to the Alternative Energy and Post Oil Society and we have not even started. Question is how are we going to survive - all 7 billion of us soon to be on this planet?

We are out of politics, but need to follow it in order to understand and adjust our strategy. If we can change anything - we will give you the choice and right to decide.
Some disturbing minds, corrupted by power, will find in these projected population numbers the roots for the new hatred and will try to justify new wars - we will suggest that you can make the other choice and not let to decide for you all over again.
There is the way - we are sure, and one first step we are doing here now is with the Electric Cars. We call it the Green Mobility Revolution, not because we warning about violence, connected with every revolution, but because we do not have luxury any more for evolution in our approach. If we start 20 years in advance to transform our society to post carbon society - maybe we will have the chance, maybe it is already too late, but it is worth a try...

Financial mess, we are in right now, is just the first call - it will bring inevitable even faster: our Energy diet is unsustainable any more, our way of life is unsustainable...

Inflation as a function of monetary expansion, which gold is indicating and raising debt is fueling on, will strike most at those who are constantly in need: who spends on food and energy most of their income. It is the hidden tax on poor and middle class - rising energy and food prices will cut disproportionally into their  tight budgets.
Oil keeps servitude going day in and day out, stop the pump and everything stops, bring the Oil price to 150 dollars and you have 2008 all over again. Now we are already close to 100 dollars and we are still in the housing free fall state.

Electric Cars break servitude to the Oil gang and stop the "opium trade" - you and your community can brake the circle and charge from the grid, local sources of Solar and Wind etc. It is much more than pure Electric feel, it is the matter of survival.
After Oil reach 150 dollars the questions about range and battery cost will be irrelevant, you will be just happy to drive.
Peak Oil, admitted now by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu means that the half is already gone and we still need oil to move to post carbon society - it is not about money any more, but about integrity of the society as we know it.

"All those QE exercises, which we have discussed above, will unleash a very powerful force of Inflation all around the world. The new most powerful trend in 21st century will be the Energy or lack of it to drive the world and its population forward. All recent progress is based on relatively cheap energy available to us for the last one hundred years. The chart above is from the latest groundbreaking revelations of International Energy Agency - it shows to us that we do not have that luxury any more. Cheap oil is gone - according to the IEA - and "Crude Oil: fields yet to be found - is the politically correct way of saying Oil Shortage. We have now Population Growth multiplied by Peak Oil and Inflation, which will push all prices higher."

  When will we waken up?

"China's commitment to high efficiency vehicles

- Electric vehicles are classified as a "strategic industry" under the twelfth Five-Year plan (2011-15), and parts manufactures will receive tax breaks and subsidies. the government has pledged that it will do whatever is necessary to push Chinese auto industry into the lead on electric vehicles over the next decade.

- Premier Wen Jiabao's choice three years ago for Minister of Science and Technology, WAN Gang, was the first minister in at least three decades who is not a member of the Communist Party, but he is former Audi auto engineer and ex-chief scientist for the Chinese' government research panel on electric cars.

- Senior Chinese officials, including Wan Gang, have outlined China's aim to be the world's largest producer of electric cars within three years, with a near-term goal of producing 500k units in 2011.

- The central government has already pledged about $17B to push the electric vehicle effort, including about $2B for R&D and an $8,800/car subsidy in 26 cities (announced in June). Provincial governments have been encouraged to contribute on top of that.

- The state-owned utilities have been tasked with building out the smart grid and charging infrastructure required for a rapid ramp up in electrics. According to the State Grid Corporation (SGC), which provides about 85% of the country's power, 75 electric charging stations are planned for 27 cities by the end of 2010. The pace will accelerate next year."
