Rare Earth Elements REE: James Dines - "The One Best Area to Buy Now" TNR.v, CZX.v, WLC.v, RM.v, LI.v, CLQ.v, AVL.to, RES.v, QUC.v, FMC, SQM, ROC,

"Money as all particles, which come and go, have a dual nature inhibited in their reality: Money love to test your patience as much as they are impatient themselves. They refuse to grow without a catalyst, even in the most fertile environment. They are always searching for the Trend: they like to come early and enjoy, when others will be piling in."

We have shared with you before that we had a feeling that consolidation in Lithium and REE space will be over very soon and after that Warren Buffett announced: "In 20 years, all cars on the road will be electric" Warren Buffett, November 29th, 2009". Now James Dines is pushing his idea "The One Best Area to Buy Now" with StockWatch email blast: external catalyst for the sector is in the making:

"- "Big IF" was in 2003, when James Dines pronounced bull market in Uranium and we made an easy killing on basket of Uranium Junior miners, some of them going from low 0.2 to over 1.0 AUD on Chinese money coming into the sector in less then a year. James Dines is in the picture again and this May he moved the REE market with value doubled and tripled with his announcement of the first Major Bull market after 2003 Uranium call in Rare Earth Elements. It will be our first take out from San Francisco Hard Assets conference last week - meeting hall was full of crowd and Master energised by attention proclaimed:
In 70s he told to his followers Buy Gold and he was a Gold Bug. He was stared down but refused to retreat. (This phrase followed every of his bullish calls.)
In 80s he told to Buy China and he was China Bug. He was...you know what happen next.
In 1997 he told to Buy Internet and he was an Internet Bug.
In 1999 he told to sell Internet stocks.
He told that it will be era of raw materials in 2000.
2002 he announced Uranium Super Bull.
2005 he told Sell Real Estate.
In November 2008 he told that it is Not the End of the world and mining stocks will double again.
In May 2009 he told about coming Buying Panic in Rare Earth Elements, announced Super Major Bull market in REE and became a Rare Earth Bug. They (REE) will be on front pages and Goldman Sachs owns Molycorp - private company which owns last past producing mine in USA. (We did not verify this information.)
- James Dines, John Kaiser and Jack Lifton are all extremely bullish on Rare Earth Elements and Jay Taylor has picked up recently TNR Gold / International Lithium for his Watch List. James Dines called it "The One Best Area to Buy Now", John Kaiser worried about "Security of Supply in a Changing World" and Jack Lifton reported on "In 2010 What will be the Best Plays in Rare Earths for Small Investors As Well As Large". Reasons sighted are the same as we have discussed before here:
China controls more then 97% of the market now.
By 2014 China will consume everything that will be produced in REE space.
All other REE metrics like 36 kg of REE in every Prius and 300kg of Rare Earth magnets per 1 mW of Wind Tubines."

James Dines with Jim Puplava: The Last Opportunity To Load The Truck With Rare Earths At This Levels ilc.v tnr.v, czx.v, cgp.v, alk.ax, lmr.v, rm.v, nup.ax, srz.ax, usa.ax, jnn.v, abn.v, ura.v, mxr.v, tsla, res, mcp, avl.to, quc.v, cee.v, sqm, fmc, roc, li.v, wlc.v, clq.v, lit, nsany, byddf, gm, dai, rno.pa, hev, aone, vlnc

According to James Dines this distribution in the Canadian junior plays could be over very soon and you can even have the last opportunity "to load the truck" with some of them at these levels.

Listen to the Jim Puplava's interview with James Dines. They are talking about Uranium, Rare Earths, Gold and Silver. James Dines is expecting the rebound in Junior markets after the June carnage and the most bitten down stocks can rebound the most. James Dines is a long standing Gold Bug and Rare Earths advocate. We are always adding Lithium to the same investment logic and the recent Chinese move to secure this strategic resource as well now, along side with Rare Earth elements. James Dines is well known and widely followed because of his track record to spot the future Mega Trends. We are following him on this blog and trying to spot the future companies, which will become the major players in these mega trends. It is not for everyone and Do Not Try it at Home, please!

Our top pick in the sector TNR Gold will qualify for the "most bitten down" junior as never before now. This distribution can be over now and all events discussed by James Dines can provide the necessary catalyst to this junior mining company with diverse portfolio of assets across multiple commodities and continents. With its 29% percent stake in International Lithium backed by Chinese Ganfeng Lithium and  100% in the Shotgun Gold deposit in Alaska - company is an underdog in the Lithium, Rare Earths and Gold sectors. Its Rare Earths projects in Canada should be driving more interest from its established Chinese contacts by now and Los Azules litigation about the Big Copper in Argentina will be providing the blue sky potential to this very extremely leveraged distressed assets play.
Insiders are buying into the both companies and we hope that James Dines will be right on these markets direction again this time. Only the future will tell us whether insiders will be right in the end with their commitment to these companies.
We have found that it is very encouraging that strategic investors are securing their stakes in Lithium developers, Lithium Big Four are raising the lithium products prices and Canadian investment houses are looking at  the Lithium junior plays. Dundee Capital has come out with CAD1.0 target price for Rodinia Lithium  - our another pick in Lithium space and the benchmark for the International Lithium future potential valuation, which depends on the further exploration progress - with the company trading recently at CAD0.32.

Please, do not forget, that we own stocks we are writing about and have position in these companies. We are not providing any investment advise on this blog and there is no solicitation to buy or sell any particular company here. Always consult with your qualified financial adviser before making any investment decisions.

Jim Puplava and Mr. Dines discuss uranium, rare earths, precious metals and the stock market

James Dines Predicts Rare Earth Buying Panic Over the Next Five Years

By Jim Puplava

The following is a partial transcript of Jim Puplava's interview with legendary investor and analyst James Dines. You can listen to the full audio interview or access the full transcript here.

Jim Puplava: Let's move on to rare earth minerals because we see our politicians including those in Europe advocating wind and solar. The two problems I see with both is night time and the persistence of wind, not to mention a few others, but let's talk about it. Most people don't realize the amount of rare earth metals that goes into a wind turbine, that goes into solar panels, that goes into hybrid cars, and we have one country in the world now that monopolizes 95 percent of the world's rare earth minerals. So Germany may talk about going green and getting rid of nuclear but they don't have natural gas, they don't have oil, they may have some wind, they may have solar but they're going to have to get rare earths and, once again, like natural gas and oil, they're going to be dependent on a foreign power for that.

James Dines: Yeah. These rare earths−I was the originally uranium bug but also the original rare earth bug. It was very hard for me to explain to people years ago what they were because it sounds like something exotic. They're not. They're just 17 elements on the periodic table and these oxides−well, the oxidation facet of these elements−are vital in all kinds of things that permeate our society right down to the ones you mentioned, right down to your cell phone in your pocket which makes them able to be so small to tanks and night vision goggles and all kinds of green things. These are the elements of the future and I've led my subscribers into these stocks in order to drink upstream from the herd. I've been on your show from the beginning repeatedly recommending them. I congratulate you for allowing me to discuss that to try to reach the world. It's also true that I've been predicting the coming rare earth buying panic. Well, you know, just this week, as I mentioned already, the Chinese have announced that they might just be cutting off their remaining five percent they're exporting. At some point you're going to see—one of my radical predictions−automobile plants closing down (due to lack of supply).

One of the things I'm not sure is that the closure of some of the automobile plants in Japan after the Fukushima tragedy is the fact that I've wondered whether or not the closing of Japan's automobile factories were entirely due to the tragedy of Fukushima. I think−personally I think that a lot of that is due to the fact that they're running out of rare earths. That prediction I made in my annual forecast issue in January I said that I thought that it would probably happen in Germany first but I'll give you another example. Just this week the glass polishing association in Seattle, Washington announced that they were running out of rare earths. They will no longer be able to polish glass. So you remember the old days if they wanted to etch something on glass they would sandblast it which, of course, leaves it cloudy. The beauty of using cerium, one of the rare earths, is that you can get an actual polish on the glass and that's going to be over. You're not going to be able to get that anymore outside of China or at least not in the near future until we can begin to get production going. So we're just beginning to get to the stage where we're running out of them and we're getting to the buying panic stage. The last Dines Letter on the front page I have a chart of one of the rare earths is neodymium oxide. I've never seen any chart like it. I mean I'm one of the founders of technical analysis. I have never seen a chart this vertical−not only vertical but the gaps between each trade are actually expanding.

That to me is evidence of the coming buying panic we've published on May 22nd, 2009 in the Dines' Letter right on the front page. I think because of things like that it's going to be on the front page headlines. At that point people all around the world are going to start asking what are these rare earths and how do I buy one of those stocks and which stocks should I buy? Well, I spent years studying them before I made the announcement and I've picked what I think are the best ones in the group and they are, of course, leaders and one of them had an announcement just this morning of a large expansion in their reserves. Those are the ones−I'm trying to pick the winners−the ones that will be first to production because I think they'll be the ones that will have the biggest and soonest rises. Eventually there'll be more production in about five years but between now and then we're going to have a terrific buying panic on a level commensurate with a hostile OPEC. Just imagine if OPEC were really hostile, if Venezuela and Iran were having their way and really cutting off our oil. That's the kind of buying panic we're having from out of China.

As you said you know one country is supplying 95 percent of it and right now I want to also talk−I mentioned I just brushed against mass psychology. One more thing I'd like to mention if I may Jim. The mass psychology of stocks as opposed to the actual product is based on the psychology of each type of buyer. The type of person who buys uranium who owns a nuclear facility is different from the guy who buys or invests in a uranium or mining stock. The same is true for rare earths. The people who are buying rare earths and sending them skyward−I just mentioned neodymium oxide−are hysterical trying to get a hold of this stuff but the stocks are fluctuating and they're down now. This is the opportunity to grab these things while they're down. If you miss the opportunity to get in at rock bottom this is the time, your last chance, to load up, to back up the truck."

Rare Earths Elements story is making its way into the mass media now. The first hype will be gone in time, but the solid plays will stay for years to ride this mega trend. We are following a number of  REE companies here and monitoring the recent progress on TNR Gold after International Lithium spin-out - whether this company will be able to capitalise on its Chinese connections with its Rare Elements Projects in Canada which stayed with TNR Gold. Insiders are buying in and it provides some vote of confidence about the future of this company.

Rare Earth Elements Becoming Hot Commodity

George Putic | Washington

If you follow the economic news, you have probably heard that rare earth elements are a hot commodity on international markets. China, which has a disproportionate share of the world's supply of these valuable minerals recently began restricting their export. These minerals are important parts of many advanced electronic equipment, including batteries for electric cars. But many people are puzzled by the term "rare earth."

Cell phones, tablet computers, video games, 3D TV sets: Practically all advanced electronic devices - including lots of critical military hardware - contain parts made with a group of exotic minerals called "rare earths." If you remember the Periodic Table of Elements from your high school chemistry class, rare earth refers to a group of 17 elements, also called lanthanide elements, with similar metallic characteristics, but differing from other metals. That is exactly the reason why they are such a hot commodity.

But how rare are the rare earth elements and why are they called earths?

"Rare is a bit of a misnomer here. In some cases a better word for rare might be 'hidden,' because these rare earth elements are found, in most cases, fairly commonly in the earth's crust," noted Jeffrey Post, a research geologist at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, in Washington, DC.

Post says many rare earth elements are actually as common as tin, nickel, copper or zinc, but they tend to be widely dispersed in very small quantities. There are only a few places where natural processes concentrated these elements enough to be mined. So "rare," in fact, means that there's not enough of them in one place.

Nevertheless, rare earths have become a very hot commodity on the world's markets and prices for some of them are rising rapidly. According to mineralprices.com, last December, a kilogram of yttrium cost $82 while now it costs around $200. Dysprosium was $700 per kilogram and now it is $1,000. Jeff Post notes that in our electronic age, many everyday devices depend on rare earth metals.

"The color images you see on LCD screens, on the computer screens… in many cases the phosphorus that produces these are based on rare earth elements," Post added. "Many of the electronic components, the very miniature, smaller components that we need to drive these small cell phones, the small computers in a very efficient way depend on some amount of rare earth elements. The batteries, the magnets that are used in these devices, again make use of rare earth elements."

There are places on earth where natural geological processes created mineral deposits that contain large quantities of rare earth elements in crystallized form. As the prices of rare earth metals increase it becomes profitable to mine mineral deposits that contain even small percentages of these metals. A former iron ore deposit in China's inner Mongolia has become the world's largest mine for rare earth elements providing up to 90 percent of world's production.

Jeff Post notes that separating rare earth metals from other minerals is a complicated process. "You need to have a specialized chemical process that will separate the rare earth elements, not only from the ores but from each other. Almost every rare earth element ore, like this one, contains not just one rare earth element but typically some amount of all the rare earth elements."

The rare earth elements are chemically very similar, so separating them from each other is a complex operation. Geologists around the world are constantly looking for new deposits of these valuable minerals. At the same time, the interest in recycling the elements from electronic waste is also on the rise."

Lithium and Rare Earth Elements: James Dines - Next Major Bull market. TNR.v, SQM, AVL.to, RES.v, CDNX, HUI, XAU, ESLR, GOOG, BYD, TTM, DAI, NSANY,

To all geopolitical concerns for Mr Obama this week added one more: who will control Next Industrial Revolution and Green Mobility Technological base? Chinese are moving very fast and now holding not only the key to financial health of US Dollar and US Corp itself, but also controlling production of strategic commodities for 21st century like Lithium and almost 90% of market of Rare Earth Elements (REE) - basis for Electric Car mass production dreams. But nothing is hopeless this time, there are people with ideas, companies with properties and people with money, who are ready to make this thing happen. We just need to make them find each other and keep all special interests out of the play field for a couple of years - to prove viability of this concept and make it impossible to kill Electric Cars again.
We have another fine gentleman in our Exclusive Club of the Next Big Thing and Major Bull market. This time it is James Dines - a widely followed The Dines Letter writer. His last prediction about Uranium Bull made early buyers a lot of money and he always gets attention. Our Next Big Thing is charging fast and money is coming into the sector. Suddenly investors are waking up to the reality of Alternative Energy and Green Mobility revolution with political spice: majority of REE is produced by China and now experts are talking about quotas for Export of REE from China as a strategic commodity and base for Next Industrial revolution. Will America for real try to reinvent capitalism by technology driven production of new means of transportation based on sustainable Green solutions? Is the time of Old Boys from Oil Lobby over or at least they will decide not to kill for another buck their kids? Will people start all over again: spend what they earn, save and invest to make the New Real Deal happen? No politics here: plane Common Sense - this is the only way out of Bankrupt Financial Economy with PlayStation kids running the show. Choice is very simple: Fall of Rome or painful Next Industrial revolution based on transition from fossil fuels and into the Green Mobility revolution. Banking must be again boring and solid and all fun must be back to Ventures and Technology driven new Bull Markets. Our safe way to ride the Tide - are commodities for 21st century. We will bet on Internet needed for all new Googles and Ebays to come, we will try to avoid, where we can, former Etoys, Commerce Ones and Aribas. Our play of this Bull are electrons safely stored in Lithium batteries under management of REE based controlling devices. Another twist to our Bull story are super alloys of particular REE needed for super magnets for powerful light weighted Electric Power Trains of Electric Cars.

Actually, the real moving star of today's story was Avalon Rare Metals AVL.to with move Up 65% on 2.5 million shares.

We are pleased to see that our Lithium Play TNR Gold TNR.v has shared the fun and moved Up 29% on 600 thousand shares. Stock is still below the radar screens of investment public, but accumulation is well under way and Dr. Frederic Breaks founder of Avalons REE Deposits is now on board of this small junior.

CEO of TNR Gold Gary Schellenberg recently discussed REE, Tantalum and Lithium in his interviews and company is aggressively building its portfolio of Lithium and REE properties. James Dines added fire to all these Latin words by his recommendation of Avalon Rare Metals and his idea about REE Major Bull Market. Now Schellenberg's excitement about Tantalum and Lithium is making sense for investment crowd and his story is getting attention.

By Brian Truscott
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
VANCOUVER -(Dow Jones)- Two TSX Venture-listed rare earth companies are enjoying strong gains Monday - an otherwise quiet day on the Toronto Stock Exchange as U.S. markets are closed for Memorial Day.
Commerce Resources Corp. (CCE.V) and Rare Element Resources Ltd. (RES.V) are up 32% and 37% respectively, in part because two well-regarded market watchers are talking up a niche resource sector that's largely unknown to the everyday investor.
Investment-letter writers James Dines, who writes the Dines Letter, and John Kaiser, who writes the Bottom-Fish Online report, say rare earth elements are increasingly important to global markets.
Dines, who has declared himself a big-time 'investor bug' of various nascent markets in the past, said last Friday that rare earth elements could be the next major surprise bull market.
Why? Rare earth elements, which go by names such as thulium and lanthanum, are used in numerous electronic applications as well as superconductors, super-magnets, refining catalysts and hybrid-car components.
The two other rare metals one needs to know about are tantalum and niobium. Tantalum is widely used in the electronics industry. Niobium is used in steels and superalloys.
The actual amount of these elements that go into producing, say, hybrid cars is small but necessary. Supply is therefore vital to producers that need these rare elements in their products.
Kaiser agrees, saying the value of rare earth element miners will be increasingly strategic as demand for product outstrips global supply.
Enter Commerce Resources, a late-stage tantalum and niobium explorer, and Rare Element Resources, which has a key rare earth project in Wyoming.
As Kaiser says, the strategic worth of what they're sitting on in the ground is becoming as valuable as the elements themselves. He used a recent example: state-owned China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group (CNMC) took a majority stake in Lynas Corp. (LYC.AU) this month, giving the Australian rare earth miner US$366 million in funding. While Lynas has offtake agreements to Japanese, European and U.S. clients lasting for the next five years, its rare earth supply could last some 30 years. CNMC has now secured and therefore controls the future supply from one of the richest rare earth deposits in the world, Kaiser said.
That includes tantalum and niobium.
This is all the more important because the U.S. Defence Logistics Agency stopped selling into the tantalum market in 2008. Australia's Talisman, the world's leading supplier of tantalum, has ceased production indefinitely, citing the adverse effect of the black market supply as well as intense pricing pressure.
Black-market production in war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo is, by some estimates, supplying the world with some 30% of its required supply.
As both Commerce Resources and Rare Element Resources move toward production, their leverage on global producers increases, observers say.
'Commerce Resources is in a fascinating global position; the window for tantalum has opened wide,' said David Hodge, president of Commerce Resources. 'We are becoming part of the supply solution on a global basis; no matter what the studies say in terms of the price of extraction, the industry will say yes.'Commerce Resources is hoping to start open-pit production in 2010.
In Toronto, Commerce Resources is up 10 Canadian cents to 40 Canadian cents on 621,000 shares. Rare Element Resources is up 35 Canadian cents to C$1.30 on 633,000 shares.

Peak Oil: REE: Rare Earth Elements: Jim Puplava, Jack Lifton and James Dines tnr.v, czx.v, alk.ax, lmr.v, tsla, rm.v, nup.ax, srz.ax, usa.ax, jnn.v, abn.v, res, mcp, avl.to, quc.v, cee.v, sqm, fmc, roc, li.v, wlc.v, clq.v, lit, nsany, byddf, gm, dai, rno.pa, hev, aone, vlnc

Jim Puplava has a Big Picture on Rare Earth Minerals and Metals - they are called Rare Earth Elements (REE) in his podcast as well:

Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are a group of specialty metals with unique physical, chemical and light-emitting properties that are seeing dramatic increases in demand, owing to their technological applications. The unique properties of REEs make them critical materials to many emerging technologies which are becoming increasingly commonplace in today’s society. While global consumption has been steadily increasing, supply of REEs has tightened dramatically.

For the last 10 years, China has dominated global supply, but owing to the importance of REE availability to internal industries, China is prioritizing its domestic markets through steadily increasing export taxes on REEs in tandem with reducing export quotas. As a result, REEs are in short supply, and with demand forecast to progressively increase, the world drastically needs new suppliers of REEs.
The REE group is considered to include the 15
lanthanide elements: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, promethium (does not occur naturally), neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, and lutetium. The elements yttrium and scandium are also included as they have similar chemical properties, making 17 REEs in total. The resource and market details refer to REEs in the oxide form and the group is collectively discussed as Rare Earth Oxides (REO)."

"If we decided to drive electric cars and charge their Lithium battery with wind, solar and other green power generated energy - time is study Rare Earth Elements. Every time you click on your Blackberry, iPhone or use your PowerBook you are at the mercy of all these elements.

There are Rare Metals like Lithium, Tantalum and Niobium among them and Rare Earth Elements:

Neodymium magnet is at the heart of Green Energy Revolution - strongest rare earth magnet available it allows to make a smaller lighter and more powerful electric motors used in hybrids, electric cars and wind turbines.

"Today everybody is exited about REE, tomorrow Peak Oil time will come and Lithium will make the headlines again. During excitement stage it is easy to make the wrong decision and chase the mini bubbles only to see them to pop - do not mistake the mega trends, Next Big Thing and parabolic rises. There is time to buy and time to sell. REE gives us a very good example - what can happen with a very small sector, when the all world depends on it. Peak Oil realisation will be next. With GM Volt and Nissan Leaf on the streets you will see the future - The Future is Electric."

James Dines has started it all with REE more than one year ago:

"Jim Puplava has made a segment with James Dines on Uranium, Gold and Rare Earths recently. James Dines gave a very interesting description about beginning stage of the real Bull market. We think that Lithium is exactly at the same stage now: people look at the sector, but do not realise its real potential. James Dines has already started the fire in REE market space in Spring 2009."
