Lithium Drive: Mitsubishi iMiEV - New Electric Car ilc.v, tnr.v, czx.v, cgp.v, alk.ax, lmr.v, rm.v, nup.ax, srz.ax, usa.ax, jnn.v, abn.v, ura.v, mxr.v, tsla, res, mcp, avl.to, quc.v, cee.v, sqm, fmc, roc, li.v, wlc.v, clq.v, lit, nsany, byddf, gm, dai, rno.pa, hev, aone, vlnc

There are no excuses any more to continue our unsustainable energy diet based on the fossil fuels. Electric Cars are the reality today and the only economically viable alternative to the oil addiction, which can be implemented within next few years.

"Lithium Charge: Electric Car demand expected to jump-start lithium stocks.  In this article we have almost all credible Lithium investment universe. Always keep in mind that analysts are promoting the companies, which they have business with and which was financed by the house they are working for. Otherwise, Jonathan LEE and David Talbot are talking about the right names and it is very encouraging, that they are bullish on Lithium demand and particularly now we can see the serious promotion of all lithium plays. Byron Capital was one of the first to put Lithium on the investors' radar screen and now Dundee Capital is expanding this mega trend introduction to the market place. We are doing the same here and writing about stocks we are interested in and having a position. General bullishness in Lithium sector should move the new names to the radar screen as well. Almost all Lithium juniors were under pressure for the last 6-8 months and will be coming strong now into the Fall with return of the risk trade. You have plenty to chose from based on your DD and risk profile: from major producers - to the more risky development plays.

Lithium Drive: Mitsubishi i-MiEV 12 month trials hailed as a success tnr.v, czx.v, rm.v, lmr.v, alk.ax, sqm, fmc, clq.v, wlc.v, tsla, li.v, lit, nsany, rno.pa, bmw, f, gm, avl.to, ree, res.v, quc.v, dai, byddf

As you remember, we have driven I-Miev and was very impress by its performance. We were anyway quite sceptical about its market success, particularly compare to upcoming Nissan Leaf and GM Volt. Car is very narrow and have that special old "Electric Car" feel that you have to give up something to be Green. It is very encouraging to see that technology behind it was on par or even above the expectations. Mitsubishi has already announced the wide body version of its Electric Car for the American market and we think that car can be competitive proposition to the market place.

"This year we have a staggering number of reports and warning on the looming Peak Oil situation. It takes time for reality to settle in, particularly, when nobody knows what to do with it. We have put REE in the headline and only few months ago we would have to explain, what is it all about - now suddenly everybody is talking about REE and stocks involved in Rare Earths are all making new highs. It takes a crisis for us to realise that fundamentals are driving the real trends. Sudden realisation that China controls more than 90% of REE market and their reserves maybe will last only for another twenty years, created the catalyst in the market place. What will it take to realise that we are running out of cheap oil? Another crisis?
We are talking here about the powerful mega trend Inflation multiplied by Peak Oil situation - we have to move and readjust our society. Our Energy diet is not sustainable any more. We are lucky in a sense that there is technology available to us to survive the Oil Shock if we will all move fast - Electric Cars. It is our Next Big Thing and at the heart of this disruptive technology lie strategic commodities: REE and Lithium."

The sector is very small - now is the time to find and pick up value among the hype, backed by strong  shareholders and based on solid portfolio of Lithium and REE properties. Headlines from China, Jim Puplava and James Dines are moving REE into the mainstream in the investment space now and Lithium will get its recognition one day as well. Only few companies left without strategic investors in the sector, when even only this catalyst can bring the transformation to the junior from a holding company into actively pushing into production developer. It will bring multiples to the dormant valuation.

We will provide some links for the further homework here:

Our Top Picks from Lithium Bull: Rest Before The Charge have already enjoyed a very active M&A season, out of the two - Rodinia Lithium has already secured strategic investor and only International Lithium left for dating now. Among the strategic suitors are the same faces - people with money vs others with debt."

Lithium Drive: First photos of U.S.-spec Mitsubishi i-MiEV revealed ahead of LA debut tsla, tnr.v, czx.v, rm.v, lmr.v, alk.ax, sqm, fmc, roc, lit, li.v, wlc.v, clq.v, res.v, ree, avl.to, nsany, f, gm, rno.pa, dai, byddf, hev, aone, vlnc

AutoBlogGreen first reported the sketches of wide body i-Miev for US market a few weeks ago, now we have the real pictures. In this composition and, particularly, with price announced for US market Mitsubishi will have some chances to compete with Nissan Leaf now in U.S.

"We were writing before about our experience in a test drive of European version of Electric i-Miev. Electric drive experience was amazing: total silence, full torque from the start, car was very responsive and dynamic to the controls. The downside was with its design and feel - that you are in an "electric car" where you have to sacrifice some comfort with its very narrow body and price was definitely on the upside with a tag above 30k euro before states rebates. We were seriously doubting that these cars could have any commercial success at that pricing level.
Today's news bring a second life to Mitsubishi in electric space - wide body give it a look of the real car, but "better" - with electric drive. We hope that interior and gadgets will match at least Nissan Leaf and price of 30k USD for the range of 100 miles on one charge will bring a serious competitor to the Nissan Leaf and Renault Fluence."

"The better is the Lithium Drive - electric drive has a very special feeling. We have test drives with Mitsubishi iMiev, Renault Fluence and Nissan Leaf. All cars have a very high torque and very smooth drive, they are almost totally silent inside at the slow speed. iMiev with its price at 30k euro after rebate will struggle once Renault EVs and Nissan Leaf will hit the road. It is smaller and you have a feeling of a "special electric car", when you have to give something in order to be green. We think that the future is open for the models, which will provide "normal, but better" experience as the comparable CE model, but we could be wrong here - people could opt for urban transport solution as well. Renault is on top of the electric game now, in Europe at least."

We first saw sketches of what Mitsubishi's i-MiEV might look like when it arrives in the United States, and now we have the first official images a week before the car's public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sure, the production-ready i-MiEV you see here loses many of the aggressive-looking elements of the preview sketch, but Mitsubishi has indeed followed through on its promise to offer more robust dimensions and an upgraded interior.
The U.S.-spec i-MiEV is 11.2 inches longer, 4.3 inches wider and 0.2 inches taller than the JDM version. We're glad that Mitsubishi has added a lot of length and width while only minimally increasing height, since that should beef up the rather narrow i-MiEV's stance here on American roads. Inside, the interior looks substantially more comfortable, with a two-tone color scheme and a redesigned center stack, encompassing updated audio and HVAC controls.
Mitsubishi is still targeting an on-sale date near the end of 2011 for the all-electric i-MiEV, with prices coming in below $30,000 (before government rebates). Hit the jump for Mitsubishi's official press blast."
