Tue Dec 4, 2012
MAX agrees to acquire 100% of Majuba Hill Silver/Copper/Gold Property in Nevada

MAX Resource Corp. (TSX.V: MXR; OTCBB: MXROF) has entered into a Mining Lease and Option to Purchase Agreement (the "Lease Agreement") with Claremont Nevada Mines LLC of Nevada and JR Exploration LLC of Utah whereby MAX can acquire a 100% interest in the Majuba Hill Silver/Copper/Gold property in Pershing County, Nevada by the payment to Claremont of US$1 Million over a four year period, with $200,000 having been paid on signing and $200,000 payable each year on the anniversary of the effective date.

This new Lease Agreement replaces the previous Option Agreement with Claremont dated March 4, 2011 whereby MAX could earn up to a 75% interest in the Majuba Hill project by spending US$10 Million over an eight year period, subject to a 3% NSR payable to the vendor. Under the terms of this new Lease Agreement, there will be no annual work commitments and the NSR will be reduced from 3% to 1%.

Stuart Rogers, the President of MAX, states: "Given our drilling success at Majuba in 2011 and 2012, we have elected to capitalize on this opportunity to acquire a 100% in the Majuba Hill project, which our recent drilling and soil geochemistry has proven is highly prospective for the development of a bulk-tonnage open pit deposit in central Nevada, one of the premier mining jurisdictions in the world. Drilling at Majuba Ridge has served to confirm our theory that Majuba Hill is a significant porphyry system with a chalcocite blanket. Our next drill program will test the extent of mineralization to the southeast and northeast at Majuba Ridge with a view to developing an NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate as soon as possible."

During exploration at Majuba Hill in 2011, MAX drilled long intervals of high grade silver and copper oxide mineralization near surface in five holes at the historic Majuba Hill mine site, which included:

  • 96 m of 39.2 g/t Ag, 0.57% Cu and 0.10 g/t Au (98.3 g/t silver equivalent ("AgEq")) in hole MM-06
  • 50.3 m of 50.8 g/t Ag, 0.31% Cu and 0.31 g/t Au (86.7 g/t AgEq) in MM-07
  • 42.7 m of 37.5 g/t Ag and 0.38% Cu (73.0 g/t AgEq) in hole MM-03
  • 45.7 m of 15.4 g/t Ag, 0.56% Cu and 0.07 g/t Au (68.0 g/t AgEq) on hole MM-02
  • 89.3 m of 16.5 g/t Ag and 0.28% Cu (42.5 g/t AgEq) in hole MM-05
During drilling in 2012, hole MM-21 confirmed that a southeast trending ridge of high-grade oxide mineralization extends a further 500 m to the southeast from the Majuba Hill mine to the Ball Park target area, where drilling in 2011 (hole MM-17) intercepted 42.7 m of 16.8 g/t Ag, 13.7 m of 15.9 g/t Ag and 6.16 m of 51.0 g/t Ag. Hole MM-21 intercepted 4.6 m @ 58.0 g/t Ag and 7.6 m @ 0.80% Cu within an overall mineralized intercept of 332 m @ 12 g/t Ag and 0.13% Cu (23.9 g/t AgEq) in oxides that began within 12 m of surface. This drill intercept, combined with historic data obtained by MAX from prior operators (see our news release of September 11, 2012), serves to expand the known mineralized silver/copper zone for 500 m to the southeast along Majuba Ridge and to a depth of at least 350 m from surface. Maps showing drilling locations from our 2011 and 2012 exploration programs at Majuba Hill are available on our web site at www.maxresource.com.

Majuba Hill is the site of numerous past producing mines, with historic production reported of 12% copper (Mason Valley Copper, 1918) and silver grades up to 40 oz/t Ag. The Majuba Hill project encompasses 3,128 acres of surface and mineral rights that includes patented lode mining claims. The property is easily accessed via 23 miles of well-maintained dirt roads leading from U.S. Interstate 80, and lies 30 miles northwest of Coeur d'Alene's Rochester silver mine, which contains a NI 43-101 compliant Measured and Indicated Resource of 263.9 million tons grading 0.46 oz/ton Ag and 0.004 oz/ton Au. (The Coeur Technical Report on the Rochester Mine is available on SEDAR).

"Max Resources is another junior which is trying to pick up its head out of summer doldrums. Some bids are coming in last couple of weeks."

  Max Resources has its own fireworks with the new drill results released yesterday.

MAX Resource Corp. (TSX.V: MXR; OTCBB: MXROF; Frankfurt: M1D) has received assays from the first hole of an eight hole (872 m) Phase III core drilling program completed at its Majuba Hill silver/copper/gold project in Nevada in June 2012. This first hole, MM-21, was drilled to a depth of 351 metres ("m") and confirms the southeast extension of near-surface high-grade supergene oxide mineralization identified by Max at the historic Majuba Hill mine during 2011. Hole MM-21 intercepted 4.6 m @ 58.0 g/t Ag and 7.6 m @ 0.80% Cu within an overall mineralized intercept of 332 m @ 12 g/t Ag and 0.13% Cu (23.9 g/t silver equivalent ("AgEq")) in oxides that began within 12 m of surface.

Hole MM-21 was collared approximately 250 m southeast of the middle portal of the past-producing Majuba Hill mine, where Phase I drilling by MAX in 2011 intercepted long intervals of high grade silver and copper mineralization near surface in five holes, which included:

  • 96 m of 39.2 g/t Ag, 0.57% Cu and 0.10 g/t Au (98.3 g/t AgEq) in hole MM-06
  • 50.3 m of 50.8 g/t Ag, 0.31% Cu and 0.31 g/t Au (86.7 g/t AgEq) in MM-07
  • 42.7 m of 37.5 g/t Ag and 0.38% Cu (73.0 g/t AgEq) in hole MM-03

Hole MM-21 confirms that a southeast trending ridge of high-grade oxide mineralization extends a further 500 m to the southeast from the Majuba Hill mine to the Ball Park target area, where drilling in 2011 (hole MM-17) intercepted 42.7 m of 16.8 g/t Ag, 13.7 m of 15.9 g/t Ag and 6.16 m of 51.0 g/t Ag. A map showing drilling locations from the 2011 exploration programs at Majuba Hill, as well as the location of MM-21, is available on our web site atwww.maxresource.com.

MAX has just recently obtained some of the data from drilling completed by the Minefinders Exploration group at Majuba Hill in 1974-5. This information was obtained from a reliable source but readers are cautioned that this information predates NI 43-101 and is not NI 43-101 compliant; it is provided for information purposes only and should not be relied upon. This data included Minefinders hole MF-01, which was drilled a further 250 meters to the southeast of hole MM-21 at an azimuth of 288 and a -54 angle to a total depth of 707 meters. Hole MF-01 was assayed on 3 meter intervals and contained 155.4 m @ 9.23 g/t Ag and 0.221% Cu starting at a down hole depth of 220 meters. Minefinders hole MF 2 was drilled at the same location as MAX's hole MM-17 to a depth of 387 m and intercepted 30.5 m @ 0.60% Cu from 85.3 m to 115.8m. It also contained 91.4 m @ 11.2 g/t Ag from 42.7 m to 134.1 m, inclusive of 9.1 m @ 53.0 g/t. These drill results, combined with the results from our hole MM-21, serve to expand the known mineralized silver/copper zone for 500 m to the southeast and to a depth of at least 350 m from surface.

Assay results are expected shortly for the remaining seven holes of the program, which were shallow and were drilled to test near-surface mineralization at the DeSoto soil anomaly 1.4 km to the northwest, where hole MM-18 intercepted 29.2 m of 30.5 g/t Ag and 0.69% Cu (98.3 g/t AgEq) in the fall of 2011. The high grade DeSoto soil anomaly was defined by soil sampling and measures approximately 2 km long by 1 km wide, with values as high as 1.53% Cu and 209 g/t Ag in soils.

MAX begins Phase III drill program at Majuba Hill copper/silver/gold oxide project in Nevada.

MAX Resource Corp. (TSX.V: MXR; OTCBB: MXROF; Frankfurt: M1D) has resumed core drilling at the Majuba Hill copper/silver/gold project in Nevada. This Phase III drill program is permitted for up to 30 holes (5,000 m) that will test the southeast extension of near surface high grade supergene oxide mineralization identified by MAX at the historic Majuba Hill mine during 2011, as well as initiate delineation drilling at the DeSoto discovery zone 1.4 km to the northwest with a view to outlining an initial NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate by the end of the year.

During Phase I drilling in 2011, MAX intercepted high grade copper/silver oxide mineralization near surface over long intervals at the past producing Majuba Hill mine. Highlights of this drilling include:

  • 96 m of 39.2 g/t Ag, 0.57% Cu and 0.10 g/t Au in hole MM-06
  • 50.3 m of 50.8 g/t Ag, 0.31% Cu and 0.31 g/t Au in MM-07
  • 42.7 m of 37.5 g/t Ag and 0.38% Cu in hole MM-03
The first hole of the current program, MM-21, is located approximately 250 m southeast of the middle portal of the past producing Majuba Hill mine and will test a ridge of high grade oxide mineralization identified during geologic exploration in 2011 that appears to extend a further 500 m to the southeast to the "Ball Park" area, where hole MM-17 intercepted 42.7 m of 16.8 g/t Ag, 13.7 m of 15.9 g/t Ag and 6.16 m of 51.0 g/t Ag. A map showing drilling locations from the 2011 exploration programs at Majuba Hill, as well as the location of MM-21, is available on our web site atwww.maxresource.com.

During the fall of 2011 MAX drilled a further four step-out holes, with hole MM-18 intercepting 29.2 m of 30.5 g/t Ag and 0.69% Cu 1.4 km to the northwest at the high grade DeSoto soil anomaly, which currently measures approximately 2 km long by 1 km wide and returned values as high as 1.53% Cu and 209 g/t Ag in soils. This soil anomaly remains open to the south and east and appears to extend at least another 1 km to the northwest onto additional land (560 acres) acquired by MAX in April, 2012. On completion of hole MM-21, the drill rig will be moved to the DeSoto zone to begin an extensive drill program to determine the overall grade and areal extent of the high grade copper/silver oxide mineralization intercepted by hole MM-18.

Majuba Hill is the site of numerous past producing mines, with historic production reported of 12% Cu (Mason Valley Copper, 1918) and silver grades up to 40 oz/t Ag. Majuba Hill encompasses 2,568 acres of surface and mineral rights that includes patented lode mining claims. "Totally lost and forgotten", this how we started a lot of the most impressive items in our junior mining collection. This company can provide a very interesting opportunity for the Summer entry now. Max Resources has gotten another hair cut after the Japan Nuclear disaster and now its perceived value is based only on totally illiquid market. Any positive development on one of its properties could become the catalyst to revisit the recent highs.

MAX drills 293 m of 5.49 g/t silver, 0.10 g/t gold and 0.09% copper in porphyry-style alteration zone with significant sulfides at Majuba Hill, Nevada

MAX Resource Corp. (TSX.V: MXR; OTCBB: MXROF; Frankfurt: M1D) has received assay results from hole MM-20, the final hole drilled during a step out drill program completed at its Majuba Hill copper/silver/gold project in Nevada during the fall of 2012.

Highlights:

  • Hole MM-20 intercepted 293 m of 5.49 g/t Ag, 0.10 g/t Au and 0.09% Cu in sulfide mineralization in a porphyry-style alteration zone discovered below the high grade Ag/Cu/Au oxide zone identified by MAX during Phase I drill in early 2011 (see our news release of October 25, 2011)
  • Gold mineralization grading 0.145 g/t Au was intercepted over the final 116 m of Hole MM-20, which was still in mineralization when terminated at the planned target depth due to inclement weather.
  • This hole was drilled 100 meters southeast of MAX's Phase I drilling, to test underneath the high grade supergene zone where MAX reported five holes intersecting high grade copper and silver oxide mineralization that included 96 m of 39.2 g Ag and 0.57% Cu starting at surface. Hole MM-20 was drilled due north at a -44 degree angle to a depth of 323.9 m
  • Hole MM-20 intersected sulfide mineralization, below the supergene (oxide) mineralization zone, that contains Chalcopyrite, Pyrite and Molybdenite in a hydrothermally altered mineralized zone indicative of the primary zone of a porphyry system.
  • Permitting is underway for 5,000 m Phase III drill program that will continue to test the high grade supergene mineralization above the primary zone intercepted by hole MM-20 as well as initiate delineation drilling at the DeSoto discovery zone 1.4 km to the northwest with a view to outlining an initial NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate by the end of the year.

Clancy Wendt, VP Exploration of MAX, states "We are very impressed by this intersection of the primary zone and slightly hydrothermally altered mineralization in this first deep hole at Majuba Hill. The increase in gold and molybdenum mineralization at depth and the long intersections of mineralization add more evidence that Majuba Hill is an extensive copper/silver/gold porphyry system that is highly prospective for the development of a bulk-tonnage open pit deposit. This discovery allows us to concentrate on defining the supergene system located above this zone, with drilling in 2012 to test the extension of high grade oxide mineralization from the Copper Stope to the southeast along the ridge above hole MM-20."

MAX believes that Majuba Hill is a newly-defined copper/silver/gold porphyry system that is highly prospective for a bulk-tonnage, open pit deposit. Since acquiring an interest in the property in March 2011, MAX has conducted extensive exploration programs which included soil sampling, data compilation and mapping and core drilling. During a Phase I core drilling program completed in August 2011, MAX encountered long intervals of high-grade silver and copper near surface in five of eight holes, as well as significant gold intercepts. Highlights of this drilling include:
  • 44.2 metres (m) of 71.0 grams per tonne (g/t) Ag, 0.15 g/t Au and 1.14% Cu in hole MM-06;
  • 50.3 m of 50.8 g/t Ag, 0.31 g/t gold and 0.31% Cu in hole MM-07;
  • 42.7 m of 37.5 g/t Ag and 0.38% Cu in hole MM-03;
  • 45.7 m of 15.4 g/t Ag and 0.56% Cu in hole MM-02;

MAX drills 29.2 m of 30.5 g/t Ag and 0.69% Cu in step-out drilling at DeSoto discovery, Majuba Hill, Nevada

"MAX Resource Corp. (TSX.V: MXR; OTCBB: MXROF; Frankfurt: M1D) has received assay results from the first three of the four step out drill holes completed at its Majuba Hill copper/silver project in Nevada during the fall of 2011. Hole MM-18 was one of two holes drilled to test a new high grade mineralized zone identified during soil sampling in 2011 near the past producing DeSoto silver mine and intercepted 29.2 meters of 30.5 g/t silver (Ag) and 0.69% cooper (Cu).

Highlights:

  • MM-18 was drilled 1.4 km to the northwest of MAX's Phase I drilling at the past producing Majuba Hill mine, where MAX intercepted near surface high grade copper and silver mineralization over significant lengths in five of eight holes.
  • Hole MM-18 was one of two holes drilled to test a new high grade mineralized zone identified during soil sampling in 2011 and intercepted 29.2 meters of 30.5 g/t Ag and 0.69% Cu.
  • The copper/silver soil anomaly at DeSoto is approximately 1.5 km long by 500 m wide and returned values as high as 1.53% Cu and 209 g/t Ag in soils.
  • Hole MM-17 was drilled 730 m southeast of Phase I drilling and intercepted 42.7 m of 16.8 g/t Ag, 13.7 m of 15.9 g/t Ag and 6.16 m of 51.0 g/t Ag
  • Permitting is underway for an extensive Phase III delineation drill program at Desoto to begin in the spring of 2012

Clancy Wendt, P.Geo, VP Exploration of MAX, states "We are excited by this new discovery at DeSoto, which extends the known area of high grade mineralization at Majuba Hill to the northwest by at least 1.4 kilometers. In addition, drilling 730 m to the southeast has intercepted significant silver mineralization and expanded the mineralized zone at Majuba Hill itself, with assay results still pending from hole MM-20. The discovery at DeSoto that high-grade copper and silver mineralization exists well beyond the immediate area of the past producing Majuba Hill mine confirms our theory that Majuba Hill is an extensive copper/silver porphyry system that is highly prospective for the development of a bulk-tonnage open pit deposit."

Hole MM-19 was drilled at the same location as hole MM-18 at an angle of --45 to the southeast, whereas hole MM-18 was drilled at the same angle to the northwest, and intercepted 3.6 m of 14.3 g/t Ag and 0.45% Cu within ten feet of surface. A map showing drilling locations from the 2011 exploration program at Majuba Hill is available on our web site at www.maxresource.com.

The first drill hole of the Phase II program, MM-17, was collared on the "Ball Park" target area immediately to the east of our Phase I drill program at Majuba Hill itself. Hole MM-17 is located approximately 730 meters to the east of our hole MM-06 (where we drilled 96 m of 39.2 g/t Ag and 0.57% Cu commencing within 5 feet of surface) and was the first of two holes planned to test the eastern extension of the high grade mineralized zone at Majuba Hill. Hole MM-17 includes intercepts of 42.7 m of 16.8 g/t Ag, 13.7 m of 15.9 g/t Ag and 6.1 m of 51.0 g/t Ag with only nominal copper; this confirms that we are still in the mineralized system.

The other hole at the Ball Park area, MM-20, was drilled approximately 150 meters to the south east of hole MM-06 to test mineralization reported by previous operators underneath the past producing Majuba Hill mine; assay results are pending.
