"The NISSAN LEAF™ NISMO RC is a purpose-built racecar based on the Nissan LEAF, the first all-electric production vehicle in the world. The NISSAN LEAF™ NISMO RC, the first-ever zero emission racing spec production vehicle, was unveiled at the 2011 New York International Auto Show in April and garnered considerable consumer attention throughout the show.

Two demonstration runs by the NISSAN LEAF™ NISMO RC are scheduled: - the first at 21:15 on Thursday, June 9th and the second at 12:10 on Saturday, June 11th local time.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world's most renowned endurance race and is held on the Circuit de la Sarthe, near the town of Le Mans, 200 kilometers west of Paris. It is considered the toughest endurance event in the world and for many car manufacturers, doing battle at Le Mans is considered a badge of honor.

This year Nissan/NISMO-powered LMP2 cars will participate in the race. Lucas Ordonez, winner of the first GT Academy, will drive the Signatech Nissan, one of the LMP2 cars."

Lithium Jolt: DBM Energy: This Breakthrough Will Soon Slash EV Prices Drastically.  Electric Cars' roll out in a mass market fashion used to be at the mercy of Oil prices, government incentives and consumer devotion to pay the top buck for being Green. This situation can be changing right now by start up from Germany and its wonder Lithium battery.
News about DBM Energy and its technological break through in Lithium batteries technology made its way, finally, into the sale pitches of stock promoters. We do not endorse the company mentioned in that report in any way - you know what we like here on this blog already - but this article is an important indication that this technology news are filtering through.

If the previous claims about the cost of this KOLIBRI Lithium Batteries will be confirmed we have a real breakthrough in Lithium batteries technology which will make Electric Cars reality in a very short period of time. In this case German government and company is very right to hold this technology so close to the chest and it explains that we have only scarce information in the North America. Lithium Rush will be next with the new headlines with DBM Energy hitting the wires."

At one point in the gas price we will be lucky to drive just anything, but with modern technology we will not have to sacrifice performance, safety or style in order to survive in the post carbon world.
