Kirill Klip.: International Lithium Corp. A Potential Source For Green Technology Minerals. $ILC.v $TNR.v $TSLA $LIT

Strategic Partner, Ganfeng Lithium, Announces Initial Budget for Joint Ventures with International Lithium. $ILC.v TNR.v $LIT $TSLA

Rare Earth elements or metals (REEs) are essential elements in clean-energy technologies. In recent years REEs have received plenty of coverage concurrent to growing environmental concerns.  The rare-earth topic is no longer obscure and discussions regarding future REE shortages are beginning to emerge in mainstream media. Today international governments and organizations are pushing efforts to develop solutions to the rising scarcity threat, one of the biggest being that only 1 percent of critical materials are currently being recycled (they are difficult to recover economically), and so the race to find viable sources for REEs is on.

The Green Technology Industry is the largest end-user of REEs and is continually growing with the development of electric vehicles and green energy electrical generators; wind turbines and solar panels. According to the American Chemistry Society, Lithium is among these endangered metals. China, which controls 97% of global rare earth production, has made significant investments in securing their supply. One excellent example of this is the recent news from China based Ganfeng Lithium Corp. regarding their 15million yuan (US $2.4 million) investment into International Lithium’s Blackstairs Pegmatite project in Ireland and the Mariana Brine project in Argentina for the 2014 budget year.  Ganfeng Lithium Corp. is one of the largest lithium product suppliers in the world supplying ILC with both capital and expertise and providing the global green technology industry with a new potential source of lithium supply.

Ganfeng’s transaction signifies confidence in ILC’s capabilities as ILC is currently one of the only publicly traded Canadian Corporations receiving funding from China after the collapse of the multi-million dollar CNOOC/Nexen deal. The Blackstairs Lithium project in Ireland is particularly momentous as a recent European Union study concluded that rare earth supply constraints could hamper clean energy efforts. Ireland has pledged to make the mining process more efficient as part of an approach to boost lithium production. Subsequent to the Blackstairs funding announcement, Jianguo Xu, Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, paid a courtesy call to Richard Bruton, Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, to discuss how to promote pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Beyond the growing demand and investment from Chinese conglomerates, encouraging headlines have also come out of Argentina, which is home to ILC’s Lithium-Brine Project located within the famous Andes Lithium Triangle. The political tide appears to have made a turn for the better this year as governments in Argentina took positive steps towards modernizing public policy to encourage foreign investment. Not only was the national currency devalued to bring it closer to its real value but new economic systems to measure real impacts of inflation were implemented. The settlement with Spanish oil giant Repsol over the YPF nationalization is another indicator that change for the better is in the works. In addition, an unprecedented debt repayment deal was struck with the “Paris Club” of creditor nations, and Lumina Copper’s announcement that First Quantum Minerals has agreed to purchase the Taca Taca copper project for $470 million  should help to shore up lingering doubts about the direction  Argentina’s mining industry is headed. Taca Taca is approximately 70 kilometres from ILC’s Mariana project and any infrastructure built to facilitate production at Taca Taca will also benefit Mariana.

ILCs goes beyond traditional mine development and is creating a business model that is focused on cooperation and growth. Ganfeng Lithium and ILC are jointly working on a vertical integration plan to develop both lithium projects and have just announced an exploration budget for 2014. With the REE demand growing and Tesla’s big Open Source move, this venture could not have occurred at a more opportune time.

About International Lithium Corp.

International Lithium Corp. is an exploration company with an outstanding portfolio of projects, strong management ownership, robust financial support and a strategic partner and keystone investor Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd., a leading China based lithium product manufacturer.

The Company's primary focus is the Mariana lithium-potash brine project, within the renowned South American "Lithium Belt" that is the host to the vast majority of global lithium resources, reserves and production. The 160 square kilometre Mariana project strategically encompasses an entire mineral rich evaporate basin that ranks as one of the more prospective salars or 'salt lakes" in the region.

Complementing the Company's lithium brine project are rare metals pegmatite properties in Canada and Ireland. These projects reported highly encouraging lithium mineralization in drill holes targeting pegmatites that are unexposed at surface (news releases dated April 3,2013 and June 25, 2013).

With the increasing demand for high tech rechargeable batteries used in vehicle propulsion technologies and portable electronics, lithium is paramount to tomorrow's "green-tech" economy. By positioning itself with solid development partners and acquiring high quality grass roots projects at an early stage of exploration, ILC aims to be the green tech resource explorer of choice for investors and build value for its shareholders.

Lithium Catalyst: Half Of All Cars Banned From Paris Roads Over Smog; Electric Cars Exempt ILC.v TNR.v LIT RM.v

Green Car Reports about this sign of time and this trend will provide the further catalyst for Electric Cars mass market. Air pollution in the cities becomes very serious issue and now electric cars technology allows us to dramatically  change the way of urban mobility.
China and India simply can not move any further with urban mobility without implementing mass market for Electric Cars, now Europe is moving ahead in that direction as well. London was talking a lot about being the Capital of Europe for Electric Cars. Maybe now the healthy competition with Paris will put actions along with words. So far Frenchman is taking London over with his 3000 electric cars for hire.

Lithium Drive: UK Government commits to electric cars LIT, ILC.v, TNR.v, RM.v

"Electric cars are taking the world with one car at a time. Tesla Model S has made them the reality and upcoming mass market electric car from Tesla Motors will make this revolution for real. BMW i3 will challenge the urban mobility status quo this year as well. UK is destined to be the leader in Electric cars with its relatively low average range driving statistics and system of Tesla's Superchargers can do the trick. Elon Musk is the official adviser of the UK government now and we can expect that things will start moving fast in the right direction. Today we have another positive step towards real energy independence and clean air in London.
China is literally chocking with pollution and electric cars are the obvious solution for urban mobility over there. Lithium developers are out of market favour now, but wait when investors will connect the dots again. Ganfeng Lithium is already the market leader in China in the lithium strategic supply chain and  extending its raw material base with International Lithium strategic partnership. Today's news from UK are putting new perspective to International Lithium 10 million J/V development partnership in Ireland with Ganfeng Lithium."

Global demand for lithium expected to rise significantly LIT, ILC.v, TNR.v, RM.v

"Euro Pacific Canada has produced the very interesting report Lithium Industry - A Strategic Energy Metal, we can expect now the push of Lithium Investment story into the market place on the back of Tesla Model S success in the market place. International Lithium is mentioned as well with its strategic partner from China Ganfeng Lithium in the report."

National Plug In Day is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
Throughout the weekend of September 28 - 29, 2013, events across the US and other countries will celebrate the third annual National Plug In Day.
Each celebration event will be led by local plug-in drivers and advocates and will include some combination of EV parades, ride-and-drives, electric tailgate parties, press conferences, award ceremonies, informational booths, and more. Plug In AmericaSierra Club, and theElectric Auto Association serve as the national team providing support to the events throughout the country. We are pleased to partner with the many other organizations and individuals working to bring National Plug In Day to communities across the country.

Celebrate With Us

Proceed to the Events page to find an event near you, sign up to attend, and let us know if you'll be bringing a plug-in vehicle to show. You don't have to bring a plug-in vehicle, or even own one, but please register either way. The events are for EV owners to share insight and experience with owners and and non-owners alike.
If there's not an event in your area and you'd like to organize one, or if you'd like to help with your local event, fill out the volunteer form.

About Plug-In Electric Vehicles

You may have noticed that people who drive the new plug in electrics can't help smiling about it. We're celebrating Plug In Day because these new vehicles are so much better, and we want to share the news. Come join us for an event where you'll get to see and possibly drive an electric vehicle and learn from real drivers what they already know:
  • Electric vehicles are fun to drive. They are smooth and quiet, and their high torque – even at low speeds – provides instant accelerator response, and also better performance in snow.
  • Electric vehicles are easier and cheaper to fuel. Fuel for EVs costs much less than for gasoline vehicles. Fueling your car with electricity is about five times cheaper than fueling with gasoline. It is much more convenient to simply plug in when you arrive home than to stop by a gas station to fill your gas tank.
  • Electric vehicles are cheaper to maintain. Maintenance for all-electric vehicles costs much less than for gasoline vehicles. They require no oil changes and have 10 times fewer moving parts than a gasoline-powered car. There's no engine, transmission, spark plugs, valves, fuel tank, tailpipe, distributor, starter, clutch, muffler, or catalytic converter.
  • Electric vehicles are cleaner. Less gas means less pollution, even when taking into account the emissions from the generation of electricity.
  • Electric vehicles are going mainstream. Electric vehicles are selling better out of the gate than did the first hybrids. Well over 100,000 plug-in vehicles have been sold, and the rate is accelerating as more cars come to the market.
  • Electric vehicles are creating good American jobs. We are building advanced technology vehicles and components in at least 20 states, creating thousands of new, good jobs.
  • Electric vehicles make for a more stable and secure United States. We need to stop feeding our oil addiction by sending nearly $1 billion overseas each day, often to governments unfriendly to US policies.
Come celebrate with us and get your own EV smile!"

Electric Car Sales Surge, 90+ Cities Celebrate National Plug In Day

EV victory lap and test drives at third annual event, Sept. 28-29

WASHINGTON, D.C.--(ENEWPSF)--September 27, 2013.  The 3rd annual National Plug In Day on September 28-29 will highlight accelerated growth in the electric vehicle market. From Amsterdam to Hawaii, prospective buyers will learn about electric vehicles (EVs) at events in more than 90 cities where communities are supporting the clean-air benefits and fuel cost-savings of EVs.

Plug-in vehicles by Nissan, GM, Tesla, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Ford, Honda and other automakers will be available for test rides and test drives. The number of plug-in models available rose from seven in 2010 to 13 in 2011, 20 in 2012 and 28 in 2013.
Events will vary. In Philadelphia, U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah will speak and test drive an electric car. In Las Vegas, event participants will be treated to a solar EV charging canopy. In Seattle, speed enthusiasts will drag race their EVs. In Long Beach, CA, upwards of 100 electric vehicles are expected to be available for viewing and test drives, and the mayor has issued a proclamation in honor of the day and local EV leaders. In Amsterdam, the E-Challenge will roll out more than 250 EVs through its city center. And stock car racer Leilani Münter will showcase her Tesla at Octoberfest in Charlotte, NC.
“Americans are finding out how liberating it can be to drive electric. We noticed a significant increase in electric vehicle sales following the last National Plug In Day, and the numbers keep rising,” said Plug In America president Richard Kelly. “More EVs are hitting the pavement, and they are selling. We’ve gone from 345 electric vehicles sold in December 2010 to 18,000 by December 2011 to 70,000 by the end of 2012. Last month American consumers bought more than 11,000 EVs, doubling EV sales from the previous month. To date, more than 130,000 EVs have been sold in the U.S. since late 2010 – with sales effectively growing by about 200% a year.”
“I’m going to let you in on a little secret: Today automakers are competing on innovation and efficiency, America has cut its oil use by 10 percent in the past eight years, and EVs are a big part of that success,” said Michael Brune, Sierra Club executive director. “National Plug In Day is our chance to take our electric cars on a victory lap. Sales are exploding, plug-in technology is beating gasoline-powered cars while saving Americans money on gas and reducing pollution.”
Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association are organizing National Plug In Day, with many other partners and sponsors at the local level. For more information about National Plug In Day and a list of events, visit http://www.pluginday.org."

Future Of Electric Cars Depends On China, Says Nissan CEO Ghosn LIT, ILC.v, TNR.v, RM.v

Pollution is the real problem in China and electric cars provide the solution. China is already the largest market for lithium materials and is actively building its supply chain of Lithium. Tesla Model S will bring to China the latest and the best technology among electric cars and judging by other high-tech applications, it will be only the matter of time before China will produce "its own electric car."

Green Car Report:

Future Of Electric Cars Depends On China, Says Nissan CEO Ghosn

China is the future of the electric car.
At least, that's what Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn believes.
Speaking to the Associated Press at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, he said the car industry is carefully watching China to see how it decides to reduce emissions.
When the Chinese do make their move, it will bring on "the explosion of the electric car," Ghosn said. (His words, not ours.)
2013 Nissan Leaf
2013 Nissan Leaf
While no one wants exploding electric cars, it's not surprising that Ghosn is hoping for an increase in demand from China.
Both Renault and Nissan have bet heavily on electricity as the ultimate alternative to fossil fuels.
Together, Renault and Nissan have sold over 100,000 electric cars, the majority of them Nissan Leafs.
Nissan sold 2,420 Leafs in the United States last month, a new high for the model, and will have sold about 80,000 globally by the end of this month.
Will China keep Renault-Nissan's electric car sales streak alive?
A vast fleet of electric cars is one of the main goals of the Chinese government's "new energyvehicle" policy, although how it will actually boost sales remains a bit of a mystery.
"New energy vehicle" originally meant electric cars, but the government revised the standard in 2011,shifting the focus to hybrids and other technologies that could potentially boost fuel efficiency.

At the time, the Chinese government set a goal of having one million new energy vehicles on the road by 2015. The bar was lowered to 500,000 vehicles in a revised version of the policy released last year.
While China has continually revised its goals to bring them more in line with reality, it hasn't given up on electrification altogether.
Just recently, it added new incentives on electric carswhile largely ignoring hybrids.
Ghosn undoubtedly hopes things stay that way.
